Decks and Porches

Deck Exten­sion.

I extended this Deck out seven feet to give more room when walk­ing out of the door and to allow a place for chairs and tables with­out hav­ing them in the main traf­fic area of the deck. The deck­ing of the orig­i­nal deck had been painted instead of stained at one time so the deck­ing was peel­ing and chip­ping. To fix this and to elim­i­nate mak­ing the deck look like there had been an addi­tion added on I replaced all of the orig­i­nal deck­ing boards with new.

After the exten­sion was framed, I tore off all of the old deck­ing and replaced it with new:

All of the Rail­ings were taken off and the post reset to be flush with the new decking:

All the orig­i­nal rail­ing and post were re-used and some new rail­ing was added for the extension:

A fresh coat of Solid color stain ties the whole thing together to make it look like the deck has always been that size:
