Deck Extension.

I extended this Deck out seven feet to give more room when walking out of the door and to allow a place for chairs and tables without having them in the main traffic area of the deck. The decking of the original deck had been painted instead of stained at one time so the decking was peeling and chipping. To fix this and to eliminate making the deck look like there had been an addition added on I replaced all of the original decking boards with new.

After the extension was framed, I tore off all of the old decking and replaced it with new:




All of the Railings were taken off and the post reset to be flush with the new decking:


All the original railing and post were re-used and some new railing was added for the extension:




A fresh coat of Solid color stain ties the whole thing together to make it look like the deck has always been that size:
