I always rec­om­mend that a per­son gets at least three dif­fer­ent esti­mates on a job, the prob­lem occurs when the client does not get spe­cific with the work to be per­formed and the mate­ri­als that they are going to have installed. The result is that the home owner will often get esti­mates that are noth­ing alike and are really not com­pa­ra­ble. They may end up with dras­tic price dif­fer­ences but they will also end up with dras­tic dif­fer­ences in the fin­ished product.
